How to Download TikTok Videos [Using PC and Mobile Device]

Due to some privacy concerns, most of the social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, do not let users download videos from their platform. You are not allowed to download the videos that you uploaded or that are on your account. However, in the case of TikTok, TikTok goes above and beyond the norms. The video-sharing platform allows any user to download any videos on their platform unless a user specifically blocks downloads on their account. In such a case, you can use an easily available third-party app, to download TikTok videos.

Many of the social media requires you to log in to their platforms to view the contents that are posted. On Tiktok, however, you don’t need to have an account to save videos on your Android or IOS device though you will need to log in to your TikTok account if you are trying to download videos.

Today, in this article, I am going to tell you two methods that you can use to download TikTok videos. One is by using the app’s feature to download video (the easy way) and using a Third-party web app or the mobile app (the long way, used when downloading videos that are unavailable for download via the app).

Bypassing Blocked Downloads

Not all videos on TikTok are downloadable; it depends upon the contributor who uploaded the video. Unfortunately, some users might restrict downloading the video, s/he can block the downloading of the video. So, in such a case, you can bypass the blocked downloads.

Download TikTok Videos as GIF

The best way to bypass blocked downloads is to convert those videos to GIFs within the app and download the file.

  2. Now, click on the right arrow button to open Share pop-up.
  3. Now, just below the list of social media, tap on Share as GIF.

Download TikTok Videos Using Third-Party App

If you don’t want to download TikTok videos as GIF, you can use an easily available third-party app to download the video.

The third-party app that I am using today is TikTok Downloader, “Video Downloader for TikTok.” Let’s begin the steps.

  1. Go to your app store on your iPhone or Play Store on your Android.
  2. Now, search for a tiktok video downloader and download the app “Video Downloader for TikTok.”
  3. Download the App.
  4. Now, open your TikTok app and open the video you want to download.
  5. Select the right arrow button from the left panel of the video.
  6. Then from the Share to the panel, swipe the social media from left to right and select others.
  7. Now, from the list of applications, select the app you just downloaded. In my case, its “TikMate Downloader.”
  8. This will open the video downloader app. Now, from the app tap on the DOWNLOAD button right below the URL address link.
  9. This will start the downloading of the video. And also, the video won’t have a watermark in it.

If you are watching the TikTok video using your web browser, you can easily download a non-watermarked video using web-application to download TikTok videos. Most of these web applications work on a desktop browser, mobile browser, or any tablets that download .mp4 videos.

Here in this article, I am using Tikmate to download TikTok videos. And, you don’t need to login to download. So, let’s get into the steps to save the videos using a web browser.

  1. First of all, open a web browser and go to TikTok official site “”
  2. Now, click on the Trending menu from the menu bar of the TikTok homepage. This will open the TikTok’s video lists. Here is the link of the TikTok video list.
  3. Now, click on any video that you want to download.
  4. Now, scroll down the video and click the COPY link to copy the URL of the video.
  5. Next, go to the TikTok video downloader page of your choice. Here I am opening to download the video.
  6. Paste the video link to the search box of the page and click the download button or Get a video button.
  7. This might take a while to download, or the page will ask you the type of video you want to download. Select the file format you wish to download.
  8. Now, your video will open in a new tab. From here, right-click on the video and select “Save video as” to open save as dialogue box on your desktop. If you are using a mobile browser, look for a button to download the file.
  9. Give your video a name and select the folder location where you want to download the video and tap on Save Button.
  10. There you go, you have successfully downloaded the TikTok video on your PC.

As you can see, downloading TikTok videos is quite easy and straightforward, happens in just a couple of steps. However, we don’t encourage you to download blocked videos. If you ever do, make sure it’s for personal use only, not to republish the video as there will always be copyright and privacy concerns in those videos. There is a reason that you are not allowed by the publisher to download the video via the app itself.
