Note: You can’t prevent your child from seeing restricted content on Play Store. They can still see them, but they can’t download them. Moreover, Parental control on Google Play isn’t available in all countries. If you go on vacation somewhere where there is no parental control, then your teen can download mature content.
Now, to start parental control to restrict explicit mature content on Google Play Store, simply,
- Open Google Play Store.
- Tap on your profile icon from the upper right corner. In some devices, you can tap on three horizontal lines from the upper left corner.
- Now, tap on Settings.
- Next select Parental control. In some devices, tap on the Family option and then select Parental Controls.
- Enable Parental Controls option from the upper right corner.
- After that, set a security pin so that your child cannot change the settings.
- Next, tap on Ok.
- Now, tap on Apps & games.
- Finally, set a restriction according to your child’s age and tap on the Save button.
This way, your kid cannot access adult or mature content or apps on Google Play Store.
Method 2: Enable Safe Browsing
Chrome is the default browser that we can find on every Android device. It is fast, secure, and reliable to provide relative answers to our searched queries.
When your teen tries to search for anything on the internet, then obviously, your teen will use a Chrome browser. So, if you enable safe mode on Chrome then it will only display or show appropriate content on the search results. Your child will not encounter any mature content unless they use the VPN.
Moreover, it will also protect your device against dangerous websites, downloads, and extensions. It will do the overall job of protecting you from the internet.
To enable safe browsing on Chrome to block adult images, videos, sites on Android, first of all,
- Open Chrome browser.
- Tap on three dots from the upper right corner.

- Finally, select either Enhanced protection or Standard protection.
Now Google Chrome will filter out the explicit content while browsing. In case you don’t want any protection.
Method 3: Enable Safe Search on Google
Next method of block adult websites on Android is to enable safe search on the Google app. We all rely on Google for your desired queries. So, if your child searches for something related to sexual, then Google will show all the pornography websites or content in a search result. But if you enable safe search on Google, then it will filter out the mature content and only show the appropriate website.
To enable Safe search on the Google app to protect kids from inappropriate adult content, follow the following steps down below.
- Open the Google app on your device.
- Search some queries in the search bar.
- Now, tap on the More option from the bottom right corner.
- Next, tap on Settings.
- After that, select the General option.
- Finally, enable the SafeSearch option.
From now on, Google will block any inappropriate images, websites, videos, and more from appearing in the main search results.
Method 4: Allow Filter Explicit on Chrome
You can also filter the explicit content on the Chrome browser to block mature content or website on Android. First, enable Safe Search on Chrome following the above method, then after allow filter explicit. If one fails to block adult content, then you have another protection.

- Open Google Chrome on your device.
