It is available in 12 different languages. It was launched on June 28, 2005. But it was incorporated for the general public only after a year from May 15, 2006.
This question and answer website allow you to submit questions as well as reply to the questions asked by other users. But the questions you are willing to submit or ask must not intrude upon Yahoo! How to Use or Participate in Yahoo! Answers
Yahoo! Answers is a great platform for people like us who want to learn and explore more and more. It is a knowledge market. It is also very easy to participate in Yahoo! Answers. You can ask questions from your side as well as give answers to other’s questions. Below I have mentioned how to answer, ask and delete a question in Yahoo! Answers.
Note that you can answer questions and ask questions only to the extent you have good points. So, as you earn more points and move higher levels, you have the power to answer and ask as many questions as you want!
How to Answer a question
As a beginner, you can begin by answering the questions. There are different categories, such as Computers & Internet, Beauty & Style, Environment, Food and Drink, et cetera.
Step 1: Choose one of the categories you are interested in or have good knowledge.
Step 2: Now, read the question carefully. You might want to answer the questions on the topic you have knowledge.
Step 3: Then, scroll down to the “Add your answer� section. Thereafter, write your answer there. The answers must be of a minimum of 15 characters. You can add photos or source that support your answer.
Step 4: Hit the “Submit� button after you are done writing your answer.
For each question you answer, you get 2 points. If the answer you submit gets the highest rating, it is pinned as the “Best Answer“. The person who asked the question is allowed to choose the best answer from the commenter answers. For this, you get an extra 10 points. Eventually, if you have the most amounts of best answers, Yahoo! will pin you as a “Top Contributor.�
How to Ask a question
Step 1: Go to Yahoo! Answers and sign in with your Yahoo! Account.
Step 2: Enter your question in the “Ask a question� field.
Or, click on the “Ask� option right next to the “Answer� option if you are using your mobile device.
Step 3: If you want to add photos to your question, click on the “Photo� option below the field where you write your question. [picture]
But if you cannot find that option, click on the “Details� option below the “Ask a question� field. Then, click on the “Expand� button. Thereafter, click on “Add Photo�. The photo you are willing to upload must be less than 5 MB.
Step 4: Thereby, click on the “Submit� button after you finish writing your question.
In this way, you can ask your question in Yahoo! Answers. Asking a question costs, you 5 points and then on choosing the best answer you will earn 3 points.
How to Edit a question
Step 1: Sign in to your Yahoo! Answers with your Yahoo! Account.
Step 2: Now, click on the profile icon which is on the left of the Yahoo! Answers page.
Step 3: Then, click on “My Questions� and choose the question you want to edit.
Step 4: Now, click on the “Edit� option below your question.
Step 5: Now you will see a drop-down menu which includes Update Question, Make Anonymous and Edit category. Update Question lets you update your question. Make Anonymous will hide the fact that you asked the question. And finally, Edit Category will let you edit the category of the question you have asked. Thereby, choose the edit you want.
Step 6: Finally, submit the changes if you edited your question or category.
How to Delete a question
Step 1: Sign in to your Yahoo! Answers with your Yahoo! Account.
Step 2: Now, click on the profile icon which is on the left of the Yahoo! Answers page.
Step 3: Then, click on “My Questions� and choose the question you want to edit.
Step 4: Now, click on the “Edit� option just below your question.
Step 5: Click on the “Delete Question� option there.
Step 6: Finally, click on the “Delete� option again to confirm.
Yahoo! Answers no longer allows you to delete the questions that have been already answered. So, if you want to delete the question you might want to hurry up before anyone leaves an answer there.
But if you cannot delete the question after the question has been answered here are some of the tricks:
- Choose “Make Anonymous� option under the Edit category so that you will not be recognized as the person who asked the question. Hence, this might save you from the embarrassment.
- Ask your friends or family to report the question so that it might be removed by the Yahoo! Answers themselves.
