Banks:
Depository financial institution: a financial institution
that accepts deposits and channels the money into lending activities; "he cashed
a check at the bank"; "that bank holds the mortgage on my home" A supply
or stock held in reserve for future use (especially in emergencies)
Banks are located pretty much on every corner of every block. This is a
place where you deposit money into a central location. You can gain
interest if you put your money into a savings account. There are many
banks around such as Bank of America, Sun Trust Bank, Central Bank, AABB.
Around four years ago or longer they have created a term called "Online Banking"
Online systems allow customers to plug into a host of banking services from a
personal computer by connecting with the bank's computers over the Internet.
A service that allows an account holder to obtain
account information and manage certain banking transactions through a personal
computer. Outstanding balance - The amount owed on a loan or line of credit.
This is the balance used to calculate payments and on which interest is charged.
Overdraft - When the amount of a paid check or other withdrawal exceeds the
available balance in a checking account. See NSF and overdraft protection.
Overdraft protection - A service that allows a checking or money market savings
account to be linked to another account that provides protection against
returned items or overdrafts. Choices can include using a savings account or an
overdraft line of credit to provide protection.
